Lighting: Use only natural light. If indoors is dark, take photos outside.

Camera: Shoot at your child’s eye level. Do not use flash or filters.

Background:

• For babies who cannot sit: Lay them on a plain white sheet or blanket.
• For babies who can sit and children: Position them in front of a plain white or neutral wall.
• Outdoor photos: A fence or brick wall is acceptable, but a white/neutral wall is preferred.

Poses: Capture a variety of shots, including full-length, mid-length, and headshots. Show different emotions (serious, smiling, laughing).

Clothing:

• Children: Plain white or neutral t-shirt with plain denim jeans.
• Babies: Plain white or neutral sleepsuit/babygrow.

Hair: Natural, unstyled hair. No product. Long hair should be shown down, tucked behind the ears, in a loose low ponytail, or a messy bun. Show variation.

Appearance: No makeup, face paint, hair accessories, or food.

Editing: Do not edit the photos.
